“Inhale the future, exhale the past…”

Knowing that my basketball career would eventually come to an end, I knew I needed to discover a new path—one that would allow me to continue growing and making a positive impact. After retiring from basketball in the summer of 2021, I found myself returning to Compton and my childhood home where it all began. After spending 12 transformative years in Italy, readjusting to life in America proved challenging. To preserve my sanity and resist the temptation of slipping back into negative American patterns, I sought solace in yoga. It was at Shefayoga located in Venice Beach, California, that I embarked on my yoga journey. Yoga swiftly became a newfound “passion” that brought me “peace” and a sense of well-being. My new “purpose” was to deepen my practice, I completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training program and an additional 50 next level yoga training. Recognizing the transformative power it held, I realized I had stumbled upon an opportunity to merge yoga with my other passions into a business to make a “profit”.
Representation matters, especially in the world of yoga. I take immense pride in the fact that I will be introducing yoga and wellness to my hometown, and beyond, ensuring that individuals from all backgrounds have access to the transformative power of this ancient practice. By infusing my unique blend of passions— basketball, traveling, academics and writing—into my yoga brand, I hope to inspire others to discover their own paths to self-discovery, growth, and inner peace. With a high sense of awareness and a profound desire to give back to communities all over the world, I am dedicated to building a legacy. One that promotes wellness, empowerment, and community through my black owned yoga brand!
